Enroll your child.

Team Tenacity is for children six to 14 who feel behind, who have been pushed out of a sport, or who have never tried one because they were sure they would be the worst one there. Everyone arrives new, so nobody starts on the outside.

What a camp looks like.

Sessions run across several weeks at a local gym, school, or fitness facility. Children work on speed, balance, strength, endurance, coordination, and reaction time, and none of it is scored against anyone else.

The physical skills are real, and they are also the vehicle. What we are actually building is the experience of being on a team that expects you at practice, because isolation is what bullying runs on and a standing obligation to other children is the fastest way to end it.

If your child does not want to go.

That is the usual starting point, and it is worth saying so. A child who has been made to feel slow or clumsy has good reason to refuse another room full of children.

What we would ask is that they come once. The first session is built so that nobody is picked last, nobody is timed against anyone, and no drill has a loser. Most children who did not want to come the first week ask about the second.

If they still do not want to go after that, we will not push, and neither should you. It is not the only way through. Take a look at Community Friends instead, which builds the same thing through service rather than sport.
