Each day, more than 160,000 children skip school because they fear being bullied. Understanding what bullying is helps adults see it, and stop it.
What is bullying?
Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior toward another person that involves a real or perceived imbalance of power. It is usually repeated over time, or has the potential to be.
It can cause physical, psychological, social, or educational harm. The power imbalance might be physical size, popularity, wealth, or access to embarrassing information, and it can shift over time and between situations.
